To say that almost every aspect of our life is centered around music wouldn't be much of an overstatement. We spend a lot of time with music: we're always either writing, recording, or performing our own, listening to an awesome album on repeat, or searching for new music when we've got a craving for something we haven't found yet.
We grew up in a home full of music, whether from our dad's collection of classic rock albums, the radio in the car, or blasting from our speakers, and we love telling our family and friends about a new artist, song, or album we've discovered and can't stop playing. Read on to check out a few of our favorites!
The news of the release of previously unheard Johnny Cash songs was a dream come true for us. Our love for the Man in Black is no secret, and we bought the record as soon as we could get our hands on it. There's no denying the talent and heart that's left such an impact on us, and it was bittersweet to hear the album (recorded in the 80s) and know that there'll be no more music from him. Even so, we enjoyed it as much as we anticipated - maybe even more. Our favorite tracks? She Used to Love Me A Lot and Don't You Think It's Come Our Time.
To this day, we have no idea how we came across Ben Howard. All we know is we heard Keep Your Head Up, and we were caught, hook, line, and sinker. From The Burgh Island EP to Every Kingdom to his latest record, I Forget Where We Were, every track is a lyrical masterpiece. Our favorites? Evergreen and Bones.
Beyond being an amazing songwriter, Chris Stapleton has a voice unlike anyone else that we've ever heard, full of soul. There's something so unbelievably raw about him, and we've had this album on repeat since it came out. Our favorites? Traveller and Tennessee Whiskey.
