On The Road Again: A Night with Willie Nelson & Family

This past Monday, we had the opportunity to see a living legend: Mr. Willie Nelson! It was almost unbelievable to know that we were seven rows back from someone who always seemed larger than life to us. He's worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, and Emmylou Harris, all the way to Snoop Dog, not to mention being a member of the country supergroup, The Highwaymen, along with Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings.

It was especially interesting for us, however, to find out that his current band includes not only his older sister, Bobbie Nelson - whom Willie, in true brotherly fashion, calls "Little Sister" on stage - playing piano, but brothers Billy and Paul English, along with the incredible talent of harmonica-master Mickey Raphael and bassist Kevin Smith. As sisters in the music world, we LOVE seeing other sibling groups making waves on stages of their own!

Willie Nelson & Family packed out the venue and put on quite the show, a true testimony to his talent and lifetime on the road, and played every song on his legendary guitar, Trigger. The best part? The spirited performance of On The Road Again, one of our favorite songs.

We want to hear from you: what's your favorite Willie Nelson song? Let us know in the comment section below!
